- Assist the EHS Manager to maintain accurate EHS programs and metrics for facility management and corporate reporting systems.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable federal and state, and local regulations, as well as corporate guidelines and policies.
- Coach management and employees to ensure compliance with external/internal audits, Federal, State, and corporate EHS regulations.
- Provide formal and informal training to employees, supervisors, and managers on safety policies and practices.
- Facilitate safety orientation for all new employees as well as all visiting contractors.
- Conduct risk assessments for all departments and make recommendations for modifications to practices, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management.
- Conduct appropriate health and safety-related inspections/audits and ensure corrective actions are monitored and documented.
- Maintain an active presence on the production, warehouse floor, observe employees throughout the plant, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Conduct environmental compliance audits/inspections.
- Assist with the preparation of environmental compliance reports and permits.
- Respond to and investigate EHS incidents and drive closure of effective corrective/preventive actions.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified levels of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Performs other job-related duties in the area of responsibility as assigned.
- Bachelor's or degree in a Science-related field with a minimum 1 year of work experience dedicated to health and safety and /or environmental field in an industrial setting, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Possess computer skills - specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrates expertise in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance, risk assessment, and training within industrial settings. Proficient in conducting audits, inspections, and maintaining regulatory knowledge to ensure a safe work environment.
