Route SalesAn ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the beverage industry, and experience with paper goods. Collaborate closely with the marketing and production teams to develop strategies that align with business goals. The focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities- Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and new business, prepare sales contracts, and interface with customers on location or by phone.
- Take a leading role with contract negotiations, closing the sale, and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.
- Operate route vehicle safely and maintain its cleanliness and upkeep.
- Coordinate and lead sales meetings, including agenda preparation.
- Ensure that all Admiral Beverage brands and packages are rotated on a "first‑in, first‑out" basis in accordance with supplier requirements.
- Establish good customer rapport through professional selling approaches.
- Account for all cash/credit proceeds, products removed from inventories, lighted signs, and all other company assets where applicable.
- Solicit new business by conducting business reviews, demonstrating products and services, using samples and marketing resources, and emphasizing salable features and benefits to customers.
- Arrange products according to prearranged plans or approved ideas.
- Place price and descriptive signs on backdrops, fixtures, merchandise, or floor.
- Transfer product from customer stockroom to floor displays to comply with "Sell By" dates, maximize product in store, and minimize product in stockroom.
- Order product for assigned accounts in accordance with established procedures to avoid out‑of‑stocks conditions.
- Originate display ideas or follow suggestions or schedule of Sales Manager.
- Construct or assemble display aids from company‑provided point‑of‑sale materials.
- Estimate and coordinate delivery dates and empty‑shell pickups based on knowledge of company schedules.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
- Wear and utilize appropriate company safety equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
- Must meet company driver qualifications and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with delivery, sales, and territory responsibilities.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school preferred.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays when required to meet business needs.
- Proven reliability and strong work ethic.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering superior results.
- Physical capability to repeatedly lift and move cases up to 50 lbs. and handle kegs when needed.
- Availability for early‑morning starts (typically 5‑7 AM) and weekend flexibility.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor when representing our company and brands.
- Previous experience in a similar role strongly desired.
