Overview
The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper's facilities, producing paperboard products, and employing over 700 people. Located on the border of Idaho and Washington, Lewiston provides outdoor opportunities and close proximity to area universities and school districts. What you will doThe Journeymen Instrument Mechanic is responsible for all mechanical maintenance tasks throughout the Lewiston Mill.
- Calibration, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and reliability for instrumentation.
- Instrumentation includes gauges, KAPPA analyzers, and stack monitors.
- Troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and pneumatic processes.
- Work closely with other departments and crafts.
- Hold self and others to a high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE).
- Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate the root cause.
- Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain a clean working environment by following procedures and housekeeping responsibilities.
- Pick up debris from the work area, sweep, and use an air hose to blow down tissue particles from in and around the machine.
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:
- Successful completion of a federally approved instrument apprenticeship program or post-secondary instrumentation program.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an instrument mechanic (industrial experience preferred).
- Must be willing and capable of learning and utilizing secondary maintenance skills such as electrician and refrigeration.
- Proficient with DCS/PLC systems, and equipment calibration, able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and reading loop diagrams.
- Familiar with automatic valves and flow meters.
- Experience with Fisher Provox, Allen Bradley PLCs, Delta
V systems, and Rosemount instrumentation is a plus. - A current state of Idaho journeyman electrician's license is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts.
Starting Pay Rate is 90% ($40.63) of the regular rate for the first year with the ability to move to 95% ($42.88) after secondary skills are mastered. 100% ($45.14) pay after 1 year.
Eligible for one (1) week vacation after successful completion of 90 day probation.
