The Maine Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Associate II to support our Adult Community Corrections unit in Lewiston. The role focuses on administrative support, data entry, document review, and communications to enable effective corrective services and restorative justice practices.
Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service and effective communication in writing and verbally.
- Multitask and manage time efficiently to handle complex administrative tasks.
- Use Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Publisher, for data management, report generation, and mail merge.
- Review documents for completeness and maintain computerized and manual information systems.
- Process standard mail transactions and operate office equipment.
- Perform data entry with high accuracy and prepare worksheets.
- Post and transfer numbers and other data as required.
- Training or experience in office and administrative support demonstrating competency in modern office practices.
- Ability to use independent decision‑making for appropriate processes and information.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong customer service, multitasking, time‑management, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and discretion with sensitive matters.
- Experience with data‑entry and data‑analysis acceptable.

- Pass a background check with fingerprinting.
- Undergo a Microsoft Excel and Word skills test (30‑minute).
- Knowledge of statutory crime victim rights or the criminal justice system is preferred.
