Overview
Prime Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist to join the oncology team at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. This physician will provide comprehensive radiation oncology services to patients within a growing regional cancer program, delivering advanced, evidence-based cancer treatment in collaboration with a multidisciplinary oncology team.
The Radiation Oncologist will play a key role in treatment planning, clinical care, and program development while supporting the mission of Prime Healthcare to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to the communities it serves.

ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
Provide comprehensive radiation oncology services including consultation, treatment planning, and ongoing patient management for oncology patients.
Evaluate patients to determine appropriate radiation therapy protocols.
Develop individualized radiation treatment plans using advanced technologies and evidence-based guidelines.
Administer and oversee external beam radiation therapy, stereotactic radiation, and other advanced modalities as available.
Monitor treatment response and manage potential side effects of radiation therapy.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and other specialists to coordinate integrated cancer care.
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and oncology case conferences.
Collaborate with radiation therapists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists to ensure accurate and safe delivery of radiation treatments.
Program Development & Quality
Support continued development and growth of the cancer program at Central Maine Medical Center.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety programs, and accreditation standards for oncology services.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Community & Education
Engage in community outreach, patient education, and cancer awareness initiatives.
Participate in teaching opportunities if affiliated with medical education programs.
QualificationsEducation
MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Training
Completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency program.
Board Certification
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology.
Licensure
Eligible for or able to obtain a Maine medical license.
Experience
Experience with modern radiation therapy technologies and treatment planning systems preferred.
