Description
This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.
As a Locum MD/DO, you will deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care, diagnosing and treating a diverse range of medical conditions, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence in the Medical Practice industry.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive primary and urgent care to patients across a diverse demographic
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and perform physical assessments
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments while monitoring patient progress
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic medical records (EMR)
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and health management
- Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and patient safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings as required
- Manage patient flow efficiently to ensure timely access to care
- MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license in good standing to practice in the state of Maine
- Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
- Associate-level experience in a clinical or medical practice setting
- Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
- Proven ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Willingness to work on-site in Lewiston on a contract basis
Schedule:
4-5 days per week, 8a-5p, specific dates
Weekends and call required
14-18 scopes per day
Patient Population:
Adults and geriatric
Advanced procedure capability preferred
Support Staff: RN, CRNAs, and technicians
EMR:
Epic
Must be board-certified
DEA required
