SUMMARY:

The Literacy and Math Intervention teacher is responsible for helping identify and support students eligible for intervention services; providing intervention instruction; monitoring, assessing, and reporting student intervention progress; following up with students after they have been exited from intervention services; and providing support and coaching for Tier 1 classroom intervention. This position will be about 10 hours per week for the 25/26 school year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

* Use his/her expertise to assess student proficiency

* Identify specific areas of ability, deficiency, and/or strength

* Prescribe an appropriate individualized intervention plan

* Group students with similar needs for instruction

* Provide individual and group instruction

* Evaluate student intervention performance relative to established grade level standards and individual progress

* Maintain student intervention records

* Report students' intervention progress to teachers and the school administration

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

* Valid Maine teacher certificate

* Bachelor's degree or higher

* Successful teaching experience working at different grade levels (K-8)

* Experience in managing data, using data platforms, etc.

LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

Clear and accurate oral and written communication is central to the work. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general counseling periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff/administration and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL

SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to effectively utilize Google applications (sheets, forms, documents, sites, etc.) Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies. Ability to exercise follow-through; carrying out tasks, projects, and other responsibilities to completion in a timely manner.
