SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Instructional Technology this position of Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) promotes the use of technologies to support student achievement. The TIS must be proficient in using current technology resources in a K-12 educational environment. Teaching experience is required for this position. Knowledge of academic standards, assessment testing, technology devices and web resources are necessary skills.

The TIS provides technology leadership, staff development, and instructional support to all K-12 instructional and administrative staff. The TIS is expected to work independently at the direction of the Director of Instructional Technology with a dotted line responsibility to the building principals.

Salary: $43,350.73 - $81,769.12 (SY25/26)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the district approved curriculum and the district approved technology plan.
  • Works closely with classroom teachers in the development of lesson plans that encompass the use of technology.
  • Provides direct support to teachers through personal campus visitation, observation, coaching, mentoring and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborates with teachers to support their use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods. In partnership, the Technology Integration Specialist and the teacher will work toward integrating the use of hardware, software and Internet resources in support of student learning and assisting teachers in meeting state and national standards for subject‑area and technology‑learning objectives.
  • Provides instruction and support to faculty members and administrators in the use of our Student Information System (SIS), our grading program and both communication and data applications.
  • Serves as a communication facilitator between faculty, administrative staff, the Director of Instructional Technology and the technology support staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
  • Participates in cooperative short and long‑range planning to make the most effective use of resources.
  • Supports the administration in implementing all school/district technology policies and rules governing student and staff use of technology.
  • Recognizes the learning disabilities of students and when necessary trains them on how to use adaptive and assistive technologies, seeking the assistance of district special education specialists as needed.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. Maintains a work log as prescribed by the Director of Instructional Technology.
  • Teaches or reviews technology skills to a partial or whole class as requested by a teacher for a special project.
  • Stays current with knowledge of hardware, software, peripheral devices, and educational trends in technology and technology integration.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None, other than contributing to the overall supervision of the students on school grounds.
