ACADIA Academy is seeking candidates for a Special Education Teacher.
Candidates must have:
- Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282).
- Experience working with children who present emotional, learning and behavioral problems.
- Should be an effective team leader who is experienced in designing individualized, academic, and behavioral programs for students.
- Behavior intervention and management skills
- Consulting with school BCBA and related service providers
- Successful instructional strategies
- Supervision of support staff
- IEP development
- Implementing appropriate modifications and accommodations
- Collecting academic and behavioral data
- Special education law and processes
- Collaborating with the general education team
- Maintaining special education records and data
- Performing classroom observations
Facilitating transitions of students placed out of district
Interested candidates should submit a letter of intent, resume, and three letters of professional reference to adminteam.
