Position Overview
Promise Early Education Center, the Head Start program for Androscoggin County, is hiring teacher positions.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related field required. Bachelor’s degree required for positions that require state of Maine DOE certification.
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood – $23.25/hour
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood – $24.76/hour

Additional Stipend (Maine Roads to Quality)- Tier 1 (Level 1‑4): $240/month
- Tier 2 (Level 5‑6): $360/month

We are searching for Head Start Teachers (37.5 hours a week). The position is responsible for 3‑5 year olds in a Head Start classroom, developing and teaching children, and preparing them for kindergarten.

Promise Early Education Center is the foremost early learning program in Central Maine, dedicated to educating the whole child and preparing that child for success in school and opportunity beyond. The Agency provides a safe, engaging, and empowering place for children to learn and grow; offers a results‑driven educational curriculum taught by degreed teachers; and supports parent engagement through partnership, communication and commitment to the parent as the primary educator.
- Experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Minimum associate degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Certified or eligible for Maine DOE Head Start certification.
