Confidential Leadership Opportunity | Utilities Manager / Chief Power Engineer

📍 Northeast, USA | Full Relocation | Sign-On + Bonus

We are conducting a confidential search for a Utilities Manager / Chief Power Engineer to own utilities and power generation at a stable, well-run industrial operation with continued capital investment. This is not a turnaround. Systems are in place. The focus is reliability, safety, and building forward. This role offers true ownership of utilities performance — from daily execution to long-term energy strategy — within a high-trust, well-resourced environment.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • True utilities ownership — not fragmented responsibility
  • Stable operation with ongoing investment (recent $10M kiln project; turbine project upcoming)
  • High visibility and influence on plant reliability, safety, and energy efficiency
  • People-first culture with strong operating discipline

Compensation & Relocation

  • $20K annual bonus + $2K sign-on
  • Full relocation package provided

What You’ll Own

  • End-to-end utilities performance: safety, compliance, uptime, efficiency, and cost
  • Daily operations of boilers, kilns, and power generation assets
  • Leadership and development of operators and technicians
  • KPIs tied to reliability, efficiency, and cost control
  • Shutdown planning, outages, and major maintenance events
  • Cross-functional partnership on energy optimization and capital projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to obtain a Maine 2nd or 3rd Class Stationary Steam Engineer License
  • (Company covers all education and testing costs)
  • 5+ years in utilities, biomass power, or industrial operations
  • Strong safety mindset and experience in regulated environments
  • Calm, accountable leadership style with hands-on credibility
  • Must be a US or Canadian Citizen

Ideal Profile

You want ownership without chaos. You value disciplined operations, strong teams, and doing things the right way. You’re comfortable on the floor, respected by operators, and trusted to make sound decisions that impact long-term reliability.

Company details shared during initial conversations.
