Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an onsite full-time Construction Manager – Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) at the Sepulveda VA Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.
This is required support needed to meet the Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrade across the VA Sepulveda Healthcare System.
ResponsibilitiesNote:
The following items describe the responsibilities and expectations related to the CM-ME role in this assignment.
- Review design and construction plans against existing site conditions.
- Resolve unforeseen site and design conditions/problems and propose cost-effective technical solutions.
- Conduct inspections and inventories of medical and administrative services structures to identify deficiencies and assess overall condition.
- Fifteen (15) years experience practicing mechanical engineering.
- Fifteen (15) years experience inspecting mechanical construction.
- Skillset and working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling to lead to project success.
- Ability to understand and master the requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions relevant to the project.
- Communication, language, and software skills with the ability to utilize various software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products, applying knowledge of computer literacy.
- Provide cost estimates and take-offs for contract modifications.
- Determine compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment and installed work with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Assess project impact on the medical center based on risk assessment with potential to affect patient care.
- Independently determine actions for design project development, coordinate project staff, and review final contract documents.
- Knowledge of governmental contracting procedures, principles, guidelines and public law.
- Survey existing job conditions and confer with medical center personnel to determine scope, phasing, and design requirements.
- Provide senior leadership and mentorship.
- Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products; strong computer literacy.
- Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and at least fifteen (15) years of experience.
