Twin Rivers Paper Company, headquartered in Madawaska, Maine, is an integrated specialty paper manufacturer producing 400,000 tons of paper per year for the packaging, publishing, label, and technical sectors. SCOPE

Reporting to the Vice President - Finance the Financial Analyst is responsible for the fiduciary responsibilities of finance, monthly closing, and reporting for the Company.

RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Ensuring accounting requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Documents and substantiate financial transactions by entering account information
  • Analyzing operational and financial data, investigating variances, identifying business drivers, and evaluating their impact on planned objectives
  • Preparing meaningful variance analysis commentary for management
  • Consolidating cost reduction and other continuous improvement activities
  • Providing assistance in reporting against performance targets in incentive programs
  • Assisting with the recommendation, development, and implementation of process improvements in support of the operating agenda
REQUIREMENTS
  • BA in Accounting or Finance
  • Travel 10% of the time
  • Strong skills in the areas of analysis, problem‑solving, organization, multi‑tasking, prioritization, communication, and relationship building
  • Ability to think strategically in a constantly changing business environment and market
  • Ability to operate with high regard to integrity, trust, and confidentiality
WORKING CONDITIONS

The Financial Analyst spends 95% of the time in an office environment preparing and reviewing reports, forecasts and financials and attending meetings. The other 5% of the time is spent in the mill environment.
