Travel RN - Psychiatric

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Psychiatric Services night shift position in Maine, requiring at least 1 year of mental health nursing experience and current CPI certification.

Job Details

• Emergency Psychiatric Services department within a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes individuals ages 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses, including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and detoxification needs,

• Some patients may also present with medical care needs alongside psychiatric diagnoses,

• Night shift: 7p-7a,

• 13-week contract,

• Flexibility required to support 24/7 departmental coverage,

Job Requirements

• Active Maine RN license (ME state or Compact) currently in hand,

• Minimum certifications required: BLS and CPI (must be current prior to start),

• Associate's degree (2-year) in Nursing required,

• Minimum 1 year of mental health nursing experience required,

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills,

• Ability to manage stress and make sound decisions under pressure,

• Must have a clean licensure history - any licensure hits will disqualify a candidate from consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all assigned areas,

• Develops and periodically updates individualized, interdisciplinary care plans for psychiatric patients,

• Evaluates patient outcomes and identifies available resources to support patient needs,

• Works as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team in a comprehensive behavioral healthcare environment,

• Previous employees of St. Mary's Regional Medical Center are not eligible for this position,

• Local candidates are accepted but will be offered a lower local pay rate,
