Wheelchair Driver - Maine Area

Modivcare is seeking Wheelchair Drivers to transport passengers to their destinations within a defined mileage radius from the operations center. This role is available in Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Androscoggin and Cumberland County, ME, with a Monday–Friday schedule ranging from 4:00AM to 8:00PM EST. Positions are offered on a part‑time and full‑time basis.

• Operate vehicle safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws and company safety guidelines.
• Transport passengers to and from medical facilities or homes in a timely manner.
• Familiarize with designated routes, maps, and GPS systems to navigate efficiently.
• Regularly inspect the vehicle for maintenance needs and keep it clean.
• Complete a mechanical checklist at the start of each shift and report any issues to management.
• Enter daily trip sheets for each transport.
• Ensure all permits, licenses, and documentation are up to date.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism with all passengers.
• Handle basic issues and refer complex problems to higher‑level staff.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Comply with Federal, State, and Local regulatory standards for driving and vehicle safety.
• Attend information systems security trainings and report related problems.
• Participate in additional projects or duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma (or equivalent education/experience).
• Zero (0) or more years of driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license for the appropriate vehicle type.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or ‑depth knowledge of local area navigation for safe and efficient routes.
• Excellent driving skills and ability to handle various road and weather conditions.
• Customer‑service oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and schedules.
• Physical fitness and stamina for long periods of driving, if applicable.

Full‑time: $17–$18 per hour
Part‑time: $25 per hour (25 hours per week)

Modivcare provides a company vehicle, a gas card, and a smart‑phone stipend.

• Lifting up to 50lb.
• Bending, twisting, crouching, reaching overhead and laterally.
• Providing assistance to members as needed.
• Pushing or pulling a loaded wheelchair up to 300lb.
