Maintenance Technician – Per Diem – Days – Bolster Heights
Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) is hiring a Per Diem Maintenance Technician for the Environmental Service Department at Bolster Heights Long Term Care. This day‑shift position requires the technician to perform repair and preventive maintenance of the physical plant, ensuring facilities are ready for residents.
ResponsibilitiesAssume responsibility for repairs and preventive maintenance of the physical plant, including minor repairs, routine inspections, and processing work orders. Provide support to maintain resident rooms ready for new residents.
Essential Duties- Repair and/or replace window screens, bathroom fixtures, and make minor roof repairs.
- Perform maintenance on laundry equipment and other facility systems.
- Check and maintain overhead vents, hot water temperatures, heating systems, boilers, and equipment.
- Maintain floor and wall tile, vinyl work, and perform minor equipment repairs.
- Clean air conditioning and heating units and change thermostats when needed.
- Maintain lawns, shrubs, plants, and overall grounds appearance.
- Distribute supplies and assist with parking lot upkeep.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting consistently with residents, families, and staff in a professional, helpful manner.
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1–3 years of experience in a maintenance position preferred.
Language Skills- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Strong written and verbal skills; additional languages preferred.
- Engage patients and team members using CMH Experience Standards.
- Active listening, honest, respectful, and collaborative.
- Initiative, ownership, teamwork, resilience, and adaptability.
- Direct and triage ability in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate with all layers of management and administration.
