Position Summary

We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Development Coordinator to support our fundraising and philanthropy efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, building relationships, supporting events, and helping a mission-driven organization grow.

As a key member of our Development team, you'll manage donor records, process charitable gifts, maintain database accuracy, assist with fundraising campaigns and events, prepare reports, and provide administrative support that helps advance Andwell's mission.

What You'll Do
  • Process and record donations, pledges, event registrations, and constituent information in our donor database.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare donor acknowledgements in a timely manner.
  • Generate reports, exports, and fundraising analytics.
  • Assist with monthly gift reconciliation and annual audit support.
  • Research prospective donors and corporate partners.
  • Help coordinate fundraising events and special initiatives.
  • Support fundraising campaigns and stewardship activities.
  • Maintain department filing systems (electronic and physical).
  • Provide administrative support to the Development team.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS charitable gift substantiation standards and internal procedures.
  • Participate in committee meetings, staff meetings, training, and other departmental initiatives.
What We're Looking For Education
  • Associate degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Experience
  • Three or more years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Development or fundraising
  • Database management
  • Gift processing
  • Data entry
  • Marketing or communications
  • Customer service
  • Nonprofit administration

Experience with donor databases is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate.

Physical Requirements
  • Primarily sedentary office work.
  • Frequent computer and keyboard use.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional travel within Maine for meetings or events, including some evenings or weekends.
