Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) - Coronary Care Unit (CCU) / Intermediate Care

Central Maine Medical Center | Lewiston, MEFull-Time | Nights | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) partners closely with department leadership and serves as the acting leader in the absence of the Director or Manager. This role oversees staffing coordination, workflow management, patient care delivery, and staff support during the assigned shift while providing direct patient care as needed.

Responsibilities

* Provide clinical and operational oversight for the CCU/Intermediate Care department

* Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts

* Ensure quality patient care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance

* Coordinate staffing, patient flow, workflow, and department operations

* Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary care teams

* Monitor and respond to changes in cardiac and high-acuity patient conditions

* Support orientation, training, and staff development

* Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives

* Perform direct patient care as needed within RN scope of practice

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
2. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
5. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

FACILITY / UNIT TRAINING

1. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
2. Non-OB Facilities - NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
3. Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
