Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED). Responsible for direct patient care, rapid assessment, triage, emergency response, and critical clinical decision-making.
Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED)
- Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of care
- Respond to acute changes, trauma, and life-threatening conditions
- Interpret labs, diagnostics, and patient symptoms
- Communicate patient status with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments
- Educate patients and families on care and discharge instructions
- Ensure compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
- Report suspected abuse/neglect per regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Facility specific requirements (may require items listed below):
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities:
Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. - Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
