Job Summary:
The RN provides direct and indirect patient care in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting, collaborating with residents and care teams to promote safety and comfort. The role involves working across various units to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, including residents with dementia, post-surgical patients, and long-term care residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor residents' health status, documenting relevant clinical information.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- Respond promptly to resident needs and medical emergencies, ensuring safety and proper care.
- Float between units as needed to provide consistent care coverage across the facility.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility policies and state regulations.
- Hold a valid State of Maine or compact RN license.
- Possess 1-3 years of relevant RN experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Have proficiency in medical terminology (preferred).
- Exhibit flexibility to work 24/7 coverage and adapt to different unit requirements.
- Be able to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare team.
