Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long-Term Care position in Lewiston, Maine. This travel assignment starts June 29, 2026 and lasts 13 weeks, covering dementia-focused care, transitional rehabilitation, and long-term care needs in a hospital setting. Pay ranges from $1,617 to $1,729 per week, with no guaranteed hours. Shift is daytime, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The role requires out-of-area candidates and provides a structured, team-based environment focused on geriatric care.

- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents on assigned units, including dementia care, long-term care, and rehabilitation needs, in collaboration with RNs and other care team members.
- Administer medications and treatments per policy, monitor responses, and perform routine procedures such as wound care and IV therapy within scope.
- Conduct geriatric assessments, monitor for changes, document findings, and promptly report significant changes to the supervising RN.
- Communicate effectively with residents and families using verbal and non-verbal techniques, especially with residents who have Alzheimer's/dementia, to support a therapeutic environment.
- Maintain patient safety, perform basic nursing duties, support activities of daily living, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
- Float to other units as needed and participate in coverage to meet 24/7 staffing requirements.
- Active State of Maine or compact Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Associate degree in Nursing or graduation from a Maine State Board approved LPN program.
- 1–3 years of RN/LPN experience preferred.
- Medical terminology knowledge a plus; strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
- Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius; candidates with licensure hits will not be considered.
- Up to 16 hours of unpaid orientation.
- 13-week contract with potential for unit-wide coverage adjustments during the assignment.
