Overview

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long-Term Care position in Lewiston, Maine. Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents on assigned units, including dementia care, long-term care, and rehabilitation needs, in collaboration with RNs and other care team members.
  • Administer medications and treatments per policy, monitor responses, and perform routine procedures such as wound care and IV therapy within scope.
  • Conduct geriatric assessments, monitor for changes, document findings, and promptly report significant changes to the supervising RN.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and families using verbal and non-verbal techniques, especially with residents who have Alzheimer's/dementia, to support a therapeutic environment.
  • Maintain patient safety, perform basic nursing duties, support activities of daily living, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
  • Float to other units as needed and participate in coverage to meet 24/7 staffing requirements.
Requirements
  • Active State of Maine or compact Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Associate degree in Nursing or graduation from a Maine State Board approved LPN program.
  • 1–3 years of RN/LPN experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge a plus; strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
  • Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius; candidates with licensure hits will not be considered.
