Job Summary
Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered. The RN and LPN partner with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care. Units include 3 East, a 31‑bed specialized unit working with Alzheimer’s/dementia residents, and 3 West, a 42‑bed long‑term care unit. The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of d'Youville Pavilion and provides 42 beds of short‑term, skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries where a rehab approach might be beneficial.
Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
- Education:
Associates in Nursing or Graduate of Maine State Board approved LPN course. Need a valid State of Maine or compact Licensed Practical Nurse license. - Experience:
1–3 years of previous RN/LPN experience preferred. - Other
Skills:
Medical terminology preferred; strong teamwork and communication skills required; ability to work well within a team of other care providers; flexibility to cover 24 hours/day, 7 days per week; flexibility to float to other units as needed. - An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may substitute for the above education and experience requirements.
