Overview
Cross Country Nurses is hiring a travel RN for a Hematology/Oncology Medical‑Surgical assignment in Lewiston, Maine.
Job SummaryA Medical‑Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse will serve on a Med‑Surg/Oncology unit providing comprehensive cancer treatment and general surgery care. Candidates must bring an active RN license and will work nights (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) on 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week for 13 weeks.
Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care on the Med‑Surg/Oncology unit.
- Manage intravenous therapy, including Baxter IV pumps.
- Apply wound vacuums (Wound Vacs, Prevena Vacs) and related equipment.
- Document patient care using EMR systems such as Omnicell, EPIC, and SBAR.
- Provide care for adult patients with complex needs including cancer, diabetes mellitus, and pneumonia.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and adhere to unit policies.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BSL or BCLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient setting, preferably with cancer, DM, PNA, and general surgery.
- Experience with wound Vacs, Prevena Vacs, and Baxter IV pumps is required.
- Chemo certification (preferred but not required).
