Emergency Psych RN - Nights

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. In this role, the RN will develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care, evaluate patient outcomes, and identify available resources for patients.

The Crisis Psychiatric Unit provides care to patients age 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses. Some patients may also have a need for medical care. The most frequent psychiatric diagnoses are major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. Patients who are in need of, or requesting detoxification, also make up part of the clientele.

• Education:
  
  2‑Year Associate's degree (required)
• Valid State of Maine RN license (required)
• BLS Certification (required)
• CPI training must be current prior to start
• At least 1 year previous experience in mental‑health nursing (required)

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills (required)
• Excellent team player
• Ability to manage stress appropriately and make decisions under pressure
• Flexibility required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
