The RN partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care.
Units3 East is a 31‑bed specialized unit working with Alzheimer’s/dementia residents, tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit include the use of verbal and non‑verbal communication techniques, understanding the difficult behaviors sometimes associated with residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, and recognizing that these behaviors can be valid communications. It provides needed care to those residents needing long‑term placement in a home‑like environment.
Transtional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of d'Youville Pavilion. This 42‑bed unit provides short‑term, skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short‑term illnesses or injuries. Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care and geriatric assessment and management.
3 West is a 42‑bed long‑term care unit. It provides needed care to those residents needing long‑term placement in a home‑like environment.
Job Requirements EducationAssociates in Nursing
Need valid State of Maine or compact RN license.
Experience1-3 years previous RN experience preferred.
Other Skills RequiredMedical terminology preferred.
Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
The ability to work well within a team of other care providers.
Flexibility required to cover 24 hours/day, 7 days per week.
Flexibility to float to other units as needed.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
