Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Lewiston, Maine.

- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS or ENPC Certification
Preferred:
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications
- Other certifications or licenses may be required
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. This role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans, administering life‑saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved emergency nursing protocols.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety and respond to immediate needs.
- Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice.
- Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment, addressing deviations and preventing complications.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, and other support staff—to ensure comprehensive care.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and spoken English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Must have fine manipulation skills, handle equipment, and assist with procedures.
- Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Must work under close supervision occasionally and be able to work independently as well.
- Must handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail.
- Must possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
