Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Daytime Admissions Role
Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our inpatient team in a daytime admissions-focused role. The APP will focus on new patient admissions, ensuring timely, high-quality evaluations and seamless coordination of care.
Preferred experience includes clinical rotations in internal medicine, hospital medicine, or acute care, and exposure to admissions workflow and inpatient care coordination.
Schedule & work environment includes a daytime schedule only – no overnight responsibilities, collaborative hospitalist and specialty support, structured onboarding and mentorship program for new graduates, and modern facilities within a community-focused medical center.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive history and physicals for new admissions, performing detailed clinical assessments and developing care plans, collaborating closely with attending physicians and hospitalists, ordering and interpreting labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests, documenting all encounters accurately in the EMR, coordinating care with nursing, case management, and ancillary services, and assisting with care transitions and discharge planning as appropriate.
Qualifications include a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, previous experience as an NP or PA, active or eligible for Maine licensure, excellent clinical judgment and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Employment status is full time, and the shift is days.
