Overview
Position: Travel ED Charge Nurse
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Department: Emergency Services
Shifts Available: Days and Nights
Pay: up to $1,491 – $2,067 gross pay per week; equivalent to $41.44– $57.43 per hour.
Assignment Length: 12 weeks

- Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts. Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
- Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
- Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development.
- Assists with performance management and HR-related activities.
- Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness. Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues as needed.
- Rounds with patients and families to support a positive experience.
- Provides direct patient care when needed to maintain safe staffing levels.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, ED setting required.
- Previous supervisory experience, required.
