About the Role

As a Certified Nurse Midwife with Central Maine Healthcare, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to women across the lifespan, with an emphasis on pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and gynecologic health.

Responsibilities
  • Providing prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and routine gynecologic care
  • Managing low-risk pregnancies and deliveries within the CNM scope of practice
  • Evaluating and managing common women’s health conditions
  • Providing contraceptive counseling, family planning, and reproductive healthcare
  • Educating and supporting patients and families throughout pregnancy and childbirth
  • Collaborating closely with OB/GYN physicians and other members of the care team
  • Identifying higher‑risk conditions and coordinating physician consultation or transfer of care when appropriate
  • Participating in the continued development and growth of our Women’s Health program
  • Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation and meeting applicable quality and safety standards
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree from an accredited nurse‑midwifery program
  • Current certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Eligibility for RN/APRN licensure and prescriptive authority in Maine
  • Current BLS certification and other certifications as required by the position

  • A collaborative approach to working with physicians, nurses, APPs, and other healthcare professionals
Preferred Skills

Experienced CNMs and qualified candidates earlier in their careers are encouraged to explore the opportunity.

Pay range and compensation package

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
