Registered Nurse (RN)
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a specialized long-term care and rehabilitative setting, supporting residents across various units. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment tailored to each resident's needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assess residents' conditions and develop individualized care plans to meet their specific needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies accurately and safely.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members to coordinate care and address concerns.
- Monitor residents for changes in health status, and document findings according to facility protocols.
- Provide emotional support and behavioral management, especially for residents with Alzheimer's/dementia.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid State of Maine RN license or compact state license required.
- Associates degree in Nursing (ASN) or higher; prior RN experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and caring for geriatric and neurologically impaired populations.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication skills, and flexibility to work 24/7 shifts and float to different units.
- Ability to adapt to varying resident needs and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
