The RN partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care.

Units include:

• 3 East is a 31-bed specialized unit, working with Alzheimers/dementia residents, and tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, understanding the difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with residents that have Alzheimer's/Dementia, as well as understanding that these behaviors can be valid communications. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a home-like environment.
• The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of d'Youville Pavilion. This 42-bed unit provides short-term, skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries of a short-term nature where a rehab approach might be beneficial. Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care and geriatric assessment and management.
• 3 West is a 42-bed long-term care unit. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a home-like environment.

Job Requirements:

• Education:
  
  Associates in Nursing
• Need valid State of Maine or compact RN license
• Experience:
  
  1-3 years previous RN experience preferred
• Other
  
  Skills Required:
  
  Medical terminology preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
• The ability to work well within a team of other care providers
• Flexibility required to coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days per week
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed
• An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
