Put your clinical expertise to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department where critical thinking, autonomy, and teamwork make a difference every shift. Care for diverse patient populations, manage high-acuity cases, and continue growing your skills alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.
Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED)
Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of care
Respond to acute changes, trauma, and life-threatening conditions
Interpret labs, diagnostics, and patient symptoms
Communicate patient status with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments
Educate patients and families on care and discharge instructions
Ensure compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
Report suspected abuse/neglect per regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate, timely documentation
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
6. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
2. EDAP certified facilities:
Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
3. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $37.00 to $51.28 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
