The Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive, high‑quality patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units. The role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent Med Surg/Tele RN experience
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
- NIHSS certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
- Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions and document changes
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures
- Document comprehensive patient information in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
- Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs
- Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use
- Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care plan
- Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with patients, families, and external resources
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice as assigned
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
- Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move around when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently
- Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
