Pay: $17.00 - $23.00/hour (depending on license/experience)
SUMMARY:
Seasonal Highway Workers have a direct impact on the overall appearance and maintenance of all public areas within the City of Lewiston. Learn a new trade while enjoying working outdoors this summer! No nights or weekends so you can strike the perfect balance between work and play.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Valid Maine Driver's License in good standing, is preferred but not required. Positions available do not require a commercial driver's license, but Lewiston Public Works is also seeking some workers with a Maine class B CDL to water City trees and landscapes with a tank truck.
Experience with lawn mowing and/or landscaping is preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate.
WORK
ACTIVITIES:
General maintenance and landscaping activities include: mowing, weed whacking, raking, shoveling, sidewalk sweeping, painting, planting, mulching, pruning and weeding. Additional duties include pool maintenance, stormwater infrastructure inspections, litter collection, and athletic field preparation such as infield raking, line marking and setting up athletic equipment. May also operate a litter vac or a mechanical sidewalk sweeper.
