Truck Shop Refrigeration Technician - Lewiston, ME; 3rd Shift

Overview

Position Summary...

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on transport refrigeration units (TRU) according to OEM procedures, maintaining and repairing trailer interior walls, floors, doors and accessories (eg bulkheads, evaporator guards, remote controller).
• Operate transport refrigeration unit (TRU) in normal diagnostic and service test modes; diagnose and repair TRU electrical systems using manuals and diagnostic tools (eg wiring diagrams, schematics, multimeter, laptop, testers).
• Service the refrigeration system (eg reclaim/recycle, leak check, solder repair, recharge) and tractor climate control systems (eg auxiliary power units (APU) with heaters and air conditioning units) and communication systems using electronic equipment.
• Maintain and repair trailers according to established procedures including electrical wiring, lighting, landing gear, interior panels, roof repairs, tires, seals, flooring, doors and threshold plates.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tractor-trailer braking system components (eg hydraulic, air, anti-skid, ABS, EBS) per established protocols, including adjustments or replacements.
• Install and dismount tires using tools and machinery; repair flats and balances; perform advanced axle alignments using electronic equipment (eg Hunter Beeline).
• Receive fuel drops and conduct fuel sampling, monitor safety compliance, adhere to fuel additives procedures, monitor tank levels, collect and prepare samples for analysis, shipping, and complete necessary documentation.
• Identify warrantable repairs by entering condition, cause and correction information into the maintenance system; complete warranty tags; retain parts per warranty guidelines and create/ process warranty claims for proper credit.
• Assess maintenance/repair/replacement needs, identify parts and solutions, consult with others, perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Walmart equipment (tractors, trailers, road trucks, shop equipment, air compressors, forklifts, wash bay, service vehicles) and complete work orders, records, logs and other documents; assist other technicians as needed.
