Account Executive at Masis Professional GroupA growing underground utility contractor based in Central Maine is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to support the safe and accurate installation of piping systems on active construction sites. The Pipefitter will work alongside the horizontal drilling, excavation, and foreman teams to ensure proper placement of water, sewer, storm, and gas infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical skills, a solid understanding of underground utility work, and a commitment to safety and quality on every job.
Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipe systems in accordance with design specifications
- Install and align pipe sections using hand tools, lasers, and levels to ensure grade and fit
- Assist with trench layout, shoring, and bedding for pipe installation
- Work closely with operators, foremen, and drill crews to coordinate workflow and ensure seamless pipe placement
- Operate and maintain pipe fusion machines and mechanical fittings (HDPE, PVC, ductile iron, and steel)
- Verify line and grade with rotating lasers or transits; adjust pipe to specifications
- Perform pressure tests, leak checks, and system inspections prior to backfill
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and materials
- Identify and report safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to site leadership
- Follow all OSHA and company-specific safety protocols on the job site
- Support project deadlines by maintaining steady, high-quality work throughout the day
Requirements:
- 2+ years of pipe fitting experience, preferably in utility or civil construction environments
- Familiarity with underground piping systems, especially water, sewer, and gas lines
- Knowledge of HDPE fusion equipment and safe practices for working around live utilities
- Ability to interpret construction plans, grades, and utility layout drawings
- Capable of performing physical labor in varying outdoor conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to follow direction from foremen and superintendents
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required
- OSHA 10 or higher certification preferred
