Legal Intake Specialist (Hourly)

Lead Intake Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, detail‑oriented Legal Intake Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients. In this critical role, you will guide individuals through the initial stages of engaging with our firm—often during difficult or stressful times—while ensuring a smooth and professional intake process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients via phone, online inquiries, and occasional in‑person interactions
  • Gather, document, and summarize key case information using the firm’s intake and lead tracking systems
  • Screen and qualify incoming leads, routing them to the appropriate legal teams
  • Identify urgent matters and escalate appropriately
  • Conduct conflict checks and refer cases externally in accordance with firm policies
  • Perform timely and professional follow‑up to maximize lead conversion
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of client interactions
  • Provide backup support to the Administrative Assistant as needed

  • Excellent written communication, including the ability to clearly summarize client narratives
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and adapting to shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and initiative
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in client intake, a call center, or crisis hotline environment strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who may have experienced trauma or loss
  • Familiarity with personal injury, medical malpractice, or related legal fields is a plus
