The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a RN- MDS Coordinator / Part-time at the Montana Mental Health and Nursing Care Center.

The Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center (MMHNCC) in Lewistown is a licensed residential facility for the long-term care and treatment of persons who have mental disorders and who require a level of care not available in the community.

Registered Nurse MDS Coordinator Part-time:
The RN / MDS Coordinator (PT) performs care area assessments, care planning process plans, and ensures the residents' well‑being and health are being monitored and recorded. This position also has scheduled RN shifts in the facility and performs professional nursing duties to promote and maintain physical health for residents in a mental health nursing care facility.

Required for the first day of work:

• Knowledge of geriatric patient care procedures, terminology, equipment, techniques, practices and interpersonal relationships.
• Knowledge of principles, techniques, and skill needed to work with the MDS system.
• Skill in the use of nursing treatment and diagnostic instruments and equipment (Thermometer, EKG, BP equipment, glucometer, otoscope, oxygen equipment, bladder scanner, oximeter).
• Ability to complete MDS process.
• Ability to communicate both verbal and in writing.
• Ability to perform work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to effectively monitor nursing care provided the residents.
• Knowledge and ability to use computer and MDS software in order to carry out the Patient Care Planning Process as required.

• Current Montana State Registered Nurse (RN) License or RN License with a Multistate privilege in a Compact State is required.
• 2 years' experience working in long term care.
