The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) offers a career opportunity as a Registered Nurse (RN) at the Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center (MMHNCC) in Lewistown. The facility is a licensed residential program for long‑term care and treatment of individuals with mental disorders.
Responsibilities- Assesses, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for residents following accepted nursing standards.
- Writes comprehensive care plans for each resident, including problems, interventions, and measurable goals.
- Serves as Charge Nurse to coordinate facility activities and provide overall management when the supervisor is absent.
- Schedules vary by availability and may include shift differential pay.
- Knowledge of nursing, medications, and treatment planning.
- Knowledge of patients’ rights regarding medical treatment.
- Ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions.
- Ability to remain calm when confronted.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Current Montana State Registered Nurse (RN) License or RN License with a Multistate privilege in a Compact State.
- Preferred:
Two years of professional nursing experience. - Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered.
