Job Summary:
The OB RN Labor & Delivery traveler provides comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during the labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. They ensure patient safety, monitor fetal and maternal well-being, and respond effectively to obstetric emergencies to promote positive birth outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery processes.
- Manage labor progression, including performing cervical exams within scope of practice.
- Assist with deliveries, including preparing patients for operative procedures when necessary.
- Interpret fetal monitoring strips and respond promptly to abnormal findings.
- Administer medications and provide postpartum education to mothers and families.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies with clinical judgment and effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Current Montana RN license required.
- Proven experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.
- Certification in NRP and BLS.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to handle obstetric emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills and emotional support capabilities.
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care.
