Maintenance Technician

HOURS: 1PM -- 9PM, T/W/Th/F/Sat (8 Hour Shift) Weekend/Weekdays, On-Call, Emergency Response

WAGE: $18/hr

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: 123 Room Hotel, Full Service Restaurant, Bar/Lounge, Indoor Pool and Hot Tub, Multiple Conference/Meeting Rooms, Landscaped Common Areas, Two Parking Lots

Performs a wide array of maintenance duties at the hotel. Duties include preventative maintenance, fix daily maintenance issues, grounds keeping, and troubleshooting. Important skills include interacting with guests & employees in a professional manner, providing, great customer service, maintain and service pool, work on electrical, carpentry, plumbing and all other day to day maintenance issues. Must assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary.

• Arrives to work on time and in proper uniform.
• Responsible for a variety of general maintenance and repair & other improvements to buildings, equipment and facilities.
• Responds to calls and work orders from Hotel Management, Housekeeping and other departments for various services.
• Repairs and maintains basic plumbing issues & stoppages; toilets, faucets, mixers, drinking fountains, etc.
• May repair or replace electrical switches or equipment.
• May replace damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles and walls.
• May install window shades, hang drapes, venetian blinds, curtain rods; install window glass; and repair door hardware.
• May perform grounds maintenance including lawn care, watering, raking, trimming, shoveling
• Adheres to all Company policies and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Ideal

Experience:

• Valid Driver's License, Insurable
• May be required to operate company work vehicles on and around property.

Previous Experience Required In Maintenance And General Repair Work.

• Must be courteous and friendly in dealing with customers and co-workers.
• Broad knowledge of trade skills required including carpentry and plumbing.
• Must have ability to repetitively work with both hands, stand, use stairs, kneel, squat and other physical requirements.

• Must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a solid attention to detail.
• Must bring a keen eye for detail, organization, safety and cleanliness to improve hotel operations.
• Must bring a positive, helpful, team-oriented, "we can do this together" attitude to all aspects of the job that inspires others.
• Must ask good questions and drill down into details to improve the business.
• Must process information quickly and take initiative to recommend solutions to challenges.
• Must be reasonable and courteous to guests and patrons, have good interpersonal skills with co-workers.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Position requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Position requires continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, handling, reaching, grasping, going up and down stairs, lifting 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
