Overview

R&D Assistant |

Location:

Lewisville, TX | Job Type: Full-time/Non-exempt | Business

Hours:

M-F 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM; occasionally after/before business hours, weekend hours may be required |

Reports to:

R&D Manager | Wage: $20-$25/hr

Major Duties
  • Assist in documentation for R&D department, including creating/revising product recipes, quality posters, tracking orders, creating/requesting special orders, creating presentation materials, and updating/preparing reports
  • Collaborate with customers to create and maintain documentation in online databases
  • Communicate with suppliers to maintain documentation from suppliers up to date
  • Assist R&D department for routine meetings and events along with special projects
  • Support R&D department by working with other departments both internally and externally
Additional Duties
  • Greet visitors and callers, answer questions, and direct them to the appropriate person or department
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and calendar events
  • Prepare and distribute communications such as emails, memos, and reports
  • Maintain files and organize documents for R&D department
  • Serve sample food both internally and externally for product reviews
  • Assist R&D department with market research and cooking/developing new products
  • Attend and support customer meetings and presentations with R&D team members as needed
Requirements
  • English skills at business level are mandatory
  • Japanese or Spanish bilingual preferred but not required
  • Intermediate to advanced skills of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Great time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with a positive attitude
  • Flexible and adaptable with changing priorities
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, creative, and curious
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding trade secrets and business information
  • Good understanding of GMP and food safety preferred
  • Must love food
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Office, lab, manufacturing, and warehouse environments
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Position requires frequent sitting or standing for long periods of time with occasional reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting
  • Cold environment
  • Must be capable of understanding work instructions in English, both oral and written
Education and Work Experiences
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in business
  • Prior work experience in an office environment is required
  • Prior office administration/supporting and multitask work experience is required
  • Food and beverage industry experience preferred
