JobFunctions / Responsibilities
Supports all aspects of supplier quotations including loading of bids and bid packages, processing of responses, evaluation, and award. Timely processing in support of program and project schedules is essential. Assists with the development of supplier contracts and agreements. Supports development of commodity strategies and suppliers. Develops and implements cost management initiatives utilizing Materials Cost Excellence strategies to improve overall delivered product costs.
Supports activities to drive improved supplier performance in delivery, quality and cost. Travels to supplier locations in support of these objectives as required. Assists with resourcing initiatives as necessary – bid packages, supplier alternatives, response analysis, selection and award. Communicates and conducts meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel as necessary. Other tasks as assigned.
2-3 years of business experience required Purchasing or related experience preferred Strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Creative, self-motivated quality and results-driven work ethic Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) required Able to travel Education Required Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
