Travel- Electrical Transmission Superintendent

Role Highlights

General Superintendent to lead construction projects in Texas and four contiguous states.

Will be responsible for overseeing one or more operational areas of an electrical transmission construction project, coordinating and scheduling multiple construction crews, determining construction requirements, planning procedures, and ensuring required specifications.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TRAVEL TO JOB SITE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.

• Establish best practices for field leadership
• Coordinate all construction services and activities, operational objectives, timelines, and goals
• Monitor overall progress of a project and work site, review processes and practices within teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality
• Supervise the actual physical construction of the project in strict accordance with the contract documents
• Direct the day‑to‑day coordination of the field— and any sub‑contractors when required—to ensure high‑quality work that meets the approved project schedule
• Record and maintain information and produce reports such as personnel, production, project logs, status and other operational data
• Maintain a strict build‑out schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
• Coordinate with superintendents and subcontractor offices for recovery plans where necessary, meet regularly with staff and subcontractors to discuss progress, obstacles, challenges, and assist in removing barriers to completing work
• Participate in the preparation and share responsibility for the job schedules
• Verify safety compliance with all trades
• Participate in setting standards for quality control
• Enforce safety and quality‑control policies
• Maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, superintendents, subcontractors, etc., and the ability to work in a team environment with other Project Managers and Superintendents
• Train and mentor less experienced superintendents
• Recruit field personnel for existing or future construction projects

• 5-10 years of general superintendent experience in highway, industrial, civil construction, or electrical transmission
• Strong organizational skills and ability to instruct and supervise a construction crew in all facets of construction
• Understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading
• Experience actively on the job site to interact with superintendents and subcontractors to validate work in progress
• Ability to establish good working relationships with a variety of people, including superintendents, project managers, upper management, trades, vendors, and clients
• Ability to supervise effectively at all levels and with a variety of personalities; motivate superintendents, subcontractors and construction personnel to perform at a high level of competency
• Manage and oversee various superintendents managing various projects
• Manage time effectively, multi‑task and prioritize to meet established goals and deadlines
• Decisive, flexible and able to work well under pressure in unexpected situations or delays in a fast‑paced environment
• Analyze and resolve problems; excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Knowledge of construction practices and terminology; ability to read and understand construction plans and documents
• Attention to detail and persistence in follow‑up
• Strong sense of urgency
• Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish (Preferred but not required)
