Cashier Job Description

The Huffines Service Cashier provides excellent customer service to all customers of the service department. He or she receives and processes payments, explains the repair process to customers, and works with the advisors to schedule appointments and ensure bills and invoices are accurate. The cashier also completes opening/closing procedures and maintains files of all documents and customer information.

• Greets customers and delivers excellent customer service both in person and on the phone with a smile and in a friendly professional manner
• Ensures protection of customer information by continually following Information Security procedures
• Maintains a general understanding of the repair process and explains the process to our customers
• Receives payments from customers, records the amount received, takes change due, and issues receipt to customer
• Coordinates with rental car provider to help customers in rental and rental return; reconciles cash drawer
• Refers customers who have questions about the work performed, additional maintenance or repairs, etc. to the Service Advisor or other appropriate individual
• Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution
• Files within the appropriate file system all service, records, reports, correspondence, or other important material
• Reconciles cash drawer
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a team player
