QUALIFICATIONS- Education: Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Licensure: Current North Carolina Dental Hygienist license (or immediate eligibility).
- Certifications: CPR certification required; BLS certification is a plus.
- Experience and Training: Preferred clinical experience in a high‑functioning dental office, with a preference for assisted hygiene model; training on an electronic medical record (EPIC) is a major plus, but not necessary; local anesthesia training is a plus.
- Knowledge, Skills & Ability: Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, patient screening, and medical history documentation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; time management; punctuality; positive attitude; professionalism; receptiveness to feedback, performance improvement, and continuous coaching; flexibility to cover other offices within HPU Health.
- Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, patient education, and other clinical functions.
- Continuously assess the hygiene schedule to ensure optimum patient flow.
- Respond to patient, clinical, and operational concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Execute other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations.
- Support practice and organizational goals.
Accountable to the Director of Clinical Operations/Practice Manager. Performance is reviewed through ongoing evaluations and an annual assessment by the CDO, incorporating input from faculty and students.
