Position Summary
Promotes the success of assigned campuses by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by students, parents, the community, and Responsive Ed. Promotes and encourages the success of every Campus Director/Headmaster by advocating, advising, and sustaining an organizational culture and operational efficiencies conducive to student learning and staff professional growth. Will also be responsible for supervisory oversight of all budgetary needs and academic functions of individual school campuses to support the mission and vision of Responsive Ed, a public school district.
QualificationsEducation/Certification and Experience
- Four-year degree from an accredited College or University (Masters Preferred)
- Teaching certificate or school administrator certificate (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in an educational environment
- 5 years of experience working with administrative leadership, clients and/or stakeholders, and/or education personnel related to school improvement, facilitation of learning, or related educational interest
- 5 years of experience using information and instructional technology
- 5 years of experience in supervising a staff
- 5 years of experience in managing budgets
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state education laws
- General knowledge of organizational structure and processes
- Strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support and mentor the development of staff
- Ability to communicate with all levels of students, their parents, teachers, the community, peers, administrative staff, and district staff
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures
- Ability to hire, evaluate and terminate personnel
- Ability to mentor, train and support personnel
- General knowledge of budgetary processes and accounting procedures
- Demonstrated ability to be a contributing member of an organizational team
- Ability to speak in public on a frequent basis
- Ability to problem solve and network
- Ability to cast a vision for the future
- General knowledge of due process
- Ability to travel frequently
- Oversee staffing of school campuses and make recommendations in the hiring process
- Oversee campus budgets and purchase requests
- Work collaboratively with others in developing the mission and articulating the vision for the district academic program
- Review facility needs and make suggestions for improvement
- Assist in the coordination of new campus start-ups
- Supervise the process for benchmarks, academic testing, learning styles & state assessments
- Coordinate professional developments and monitor all paper and computer based curriculum
- Conduct systematic reviews of policies and procedures that impact the academic program
- Directly supervises employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Review and document implementation of the Responsive Ed Quality Standards
- Monitor the management of all student services (ie. Section 504/Special Education/English as a Second Language, CTE etc.)
- Approve subject and grade level assignments for teachers
- Use data to improve processes and structures for responding to stakeholders
- Ensure that parents are informed through the use of standard report card, and progress reports as per state regulations
- Conduct graduate reviews that include class rank, honor graduate certificates, and selection of valedictorian and salutatorian as applies
- Monitor the implementation of character education
- Implement, uphold and enforce system-wide policies and procedures
- Monitor classroom environments to ensure appropriate use of curriculum
- Serve as the liaison between the campuses and Responsive Ed district offices
- Appraise the performance of campus directors and holds them accountable
- Resolves complaints and grievances according to the Responsive Ed policies and procedures
- Ensure the management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
