Job Description
The Incoming Quality Engineer (IQE) is responsible for ensuring that supplier-provided components meet quality, reliability, and performance requirements for component manufacturing. The role supports supplier qualification, incoming inspection control, supplier corrective action management, and reliability verification to ensure stable supply of high-quality materials for production.
The IQE works closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Reliability, and Manufacturing teams to evaluate supplier performance, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier/Vendor quality management and coordination
- Root Cause Analysis (8D Problem Solving, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis/FMEA)
- Incoming inspection and metrology of electrical/fiber/semi-conductor components
- Component handling and contamination control
- Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Supply Chain teams
- Support supplier evaluation and qualification to ensure vendors meet company quality requirements
- Assist with supplier audits and supplier selection processes
- Evaluate supplier capability for precision electronic components
- Verify supplier process controls, inspection systems, and reliability testing
- Support supplier approval, monitoring, and periodic re-evaluation programs
