Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Lewisville, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of financial accounts and ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance. You will play a key part in handling month-end processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting budgeting efforts.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the month-end closing process for multiple properties, ensuring timely completion and accurate financial statements.

- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations for both operating and escrow accounts.

- Prepare and review journal entries, as well as accounting adjustments, to maintain precise records.

- Analyze financial statements to detect discrepancies and implement solutions proactively.

- Generate and distribute periodic financial reports, including monthly and quarterly statements, to stakeholders.

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting tasks, providing valuable insights for financial planning.

- Maintain detailed accounting schedules for depreciation, amortization, taxes, insurance, and escrow.

- Compile necessary documents for audits, tax filings, and cost certifications, ensuring compliance.

- Prepare cash flow reports on a weekly basis for executive review and decision-making.

- Support property management teams with accounts payable inquiries and technical accounting guidance. Requirements - Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including preparation and compliance.

- Proficiency in handling sales tax and corporate tax returns.

- Experience with journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.

- Expertise in preparing financial reports and schedules for audits and compliance.

- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate across teams.
