The Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration, security, automation, and monitoring of enterprise server and cloud environments. This role ensures system reliability through proactive analysis, infrastructure automation, and AI-enhanced monitoring. The engineer provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, mentors junior team members, and collaborates across technical teams to support business-critical systems and AI initiatives.
Occasional after-hours support (nights/weekends) may be required during incidents, upgrades, or maintenance windows. Limited travel may also be required.Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support AI-ready infrastructure for machine learning and deep learning workloads
- Collaborate with data teams to optimize model training and deployment environments
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and AI model deployment systems
- Manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including high-performance compute and storage resources
- Automate infrastructure and deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools and containerization technologies
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot system issues, and optimize resource utilization
- Ensure security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery standards are maintained
- Administer and support Windows Server environments and Active Directory
- Support Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid cloud platforms
- Develop solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents)
- Utilize Python and scripting tools for automation and infrastructure management
- Maintain change control processes and technical documentation
- Evaluate and implement emerging infrastructure and AI technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
- 7+ years of IT experience in a senior or Level 3 support role
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Azure Active Directory
- Expertise in Windows Server platforms, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Proficiency in Python and infrastructure automation tools (Power Shell, Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure platforms and AI-enhanced monitoring tools
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies
